Additional Information:
All tours are private arrangements; we do not match groups of passengers to one big group on a vehicle. The vehicles are non-smoking, air-conditioned and provided with a professional driver and licensed private tour guide. Tours and other attractions involve walking long distances on uneven surfaces, uphill and downhill paths and stairs. You may bring your cameras but tripods are not allowed in museums and archeological sites. Please let us know if you have any special requirements. An adult must accompany children under 12 years of age.
Clothing: Tours sometimes require walking long distances on uneven surfaces. We recommend you wear comfortable clothes and comfortable walking shoes and bring a bottle of water, hat, sun cream, and umbrella for rainy or sunny days especially during summer it gets very hot and it is hard to find shade in archeological sites.
You may wear shorts, and sleeveless t-shirts in Turkey. There’s no obligation to cover your head or shoulders in archeological sites. For the religious places and temples, a pashmina would be enough to respect while visiting those places.
Visiting a mosque: If you wish to visit a Mosque on the tour here are some reminders; Believers have to be covered, almost completely. For tourists, the rules are less strict, but when you plan a trip to a mosque try to dress modestly. The hair of the women as well as the shoulders and knees of both genders should be covered. If this is not the case, some mosques provide scarves and attires free of charge. But not all mosques have such a service, so you may want to carry yours along to be on the safe side.
Tours with kids: It gets over 115 F (46 C) hot in archeological sites during summer time and for little children, it would be unbearable. You should take precautions to cover your shoulders, hats, comfortable walking shoes, wet wipes, sunscreen, and plenty of water for your kids.
If you’ve kids under 6 years old, a backpack or a buggy is good. Most of the time you’ll be able to push the buggy easily.
Turkey is quite an interesting place; there are lots of things to see. Lots of ruins that your children could really touch are available in archeological sites, which would bring history to life. Also, your children may have the opportunity to see archeologists while they are excavating in archeological sites.
When to book: The best time to book is after you reserve your cruise or hotel. We prefer to work with experienced, knowledgeable, local and licensed tour guides and they are not unlimited in the area. In order to find an available “good” private guide as described we need to know weeks or even months before about the date you’d like to reserve.
We are not requesting any amount of deposit from you; however, we are paying deposits to the professional tour guide, Transport Company, and your private driver on your behalf. So, if you would like to cancel your tour, please let us know beforehand to save us from paying no-show fines. Thank you for your understanding.
